Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 February 2026

1. Introduction & Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Rendered platform at rendered.one (the "Platform"), operated by Rendered ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation.

2. Definitions

  • "Platform" means the Rendered website, application, and all related services at rendered.one.
  • "Talent" means a professional who registers on the Platform to offer their skills for project-based work with nonprofits.
  • "Nonprofit" means a nonprofit organisation that registers on the Platform to find and engage Talent for projects.
  • "Engagement" means an agreed project between a Nonprofit and Talent, managed through the Platform.
  • "Milestone" means a defined stage of work within an Engagement, with associated deliverables and payment.
  • "Platform Fee" means the commission charged by Rendered on each transaction, currently set at 20%.

3. Account Registration

Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts to use the Platform. Nonprofit accounts must represent a genuine registered nonprofit organisation.

Accuracy: You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and keep it updated. Providing false or misleading information may result in account suspension or termination.

Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication.

One account per person: Each individual may maintain only one account. Organisations may have multiple authorised members on a single organisation account.

4. For Talent

Profile obligations: You must provide an accurate representation of your professional skills, experience, and availability. Your LinkedIn profile must be current and consistent with the information on your Rendered profile.

Vetting: All Talent profiles are subject to our vetting process, which includes a review of your LinkedIn profile and may include a screening call. We reserve the right to reject or suspend profiles that do not meet our standards. Acceptance is at our sole discretion.

Professional conduct: You agree to deliver work to a professional standard, meet agreed deadlines, communicate promptly, and act with integrity in all interactions on the Platform.

Rate acceptance: Rates on the Platform are standardised by skill category. By joining the Platform, you accept the applicable rates for your selected categories. Talent receives 80% of the published rate (after the 20% Platform Fee).

Independent contractor: Talent are independent contractors, not employees of Rendered or the Nonprofits they work with. You are responsible for your own tax obligations, insurance, and compliance with applicable laws.

5. For Nonprofits

Project posting: You must provide accurate and complete project descriptions, including scope, timeline, and budget expectations. Projects must be genuine professional engagements for your organisation's benefit.

Payment obligations: You agree to fund project milestones before work begins. Payments are held in escrow and released to Talent upon your approval of completed work.

Escrow: All payments are processed through our escrow system via Stripe Connect. Funds are held securely until milestone deliverables are approved. You must review and approve or request revisions within a reasonable timeframe (typically 7 days of delivery).

Professional conduct: You agree to provide clear briefs, respond to communications promptly, give constructive feedback, and treat Talent with professional respect.

6. Payments & Fees

Stripe Connect: All payments are processed through Stripe Connect. Talent must complete Stripe onboarding to receive payments. By using the Platform, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.

Platform Fee: Rendered charges a 20% Platform Fee on all transactions. This fee is included in the published rates. Nonprofits pay the published rate; Talent receives 80% of the published rate.

Escrow: Nonprofit payments are held in escrow until work is approved. This protects both parties: Nonprofits are assured funds are only released for satisfactory work, and Talent is assured payment exists before starting work.

Refunds: If work is not delivered or is materially deficient, Nonprofits may request a refund. Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We may mediate disputes between the parties. If no resolution is reached, we will make a determination based on the available evidence.

Currency: Rates are published in GBP and USD. The applicable currency is determined by the Talent's location.

7. Data Sharing & Privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

Data sharing preferences: Talent can control how much of their profile information is shared with Nonprofits through three tiers:

  • Full profile: All profile details are visible to Nonprofits.
  • Hide sensitive details: Surname and current employer are hidden.
  • Fully anonymised: Name is anonymised and identifying details are hidden until the Talent agrees to engage.

These preferences can be changed at any time in your account settings. Regardless of your preference, your profile is only visible to approved Nonprofit organisations on the Platform.

8. Intellectual Property

Work product: Unless otherwise agreed in writing between Talent and the Nonprofit, all work product created during an Engagement is owned by the Nonprofit upon full payment. Talent retains the right to use non-confidential work for portfolio purposes.

Platform IP: The Platform, including its design, features, content, and underlying technology, is owned by Rendered. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Platform.

Your content: You retain ownership of content you upload to the Platform (profile information, portfolio items, messages). By uploading content, you grant Rendered a non-exclusive licence to use, display, and distribute that content as necessary to operate the Platform.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Provide false or misleading information in your profile or project listings.
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users.
  • Attempt to circumvent the Platform's payment system to avoid fees.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Platform without permission.
  • Impersonate another person or organisation.
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Rendered acts as a marketplace connecting Talent and Nonprofits. We are not a party to the Engagements between them and do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of work performed.
  • The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.
  • Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to these Terms shall not exceed the fees you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Disputes

Between users: If a dispute arises between Talent and a Nonprofit regarding an Engagement, we encourage the parties to resolve it directly. If direct resolution is not possible, either party may request mediation through our support team. We will review the available evidence and make a determination, which may include releasing or refunding escrowed funds.

With Rendered: If you have a dispute with Rendered, please contact us at hello@rendered.one. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve the matter.

Governing law: These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Termination

By you: You may close your account at any time. If you have active Engagements, you must complete them or arrange a handover before closing your account.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, fail to meet professional standards, or for any other reason at our reasonable discretion. We will provide notice where practicable.

Effect of termination: Upon termination, your access to the Platform will cease. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, and Disputes) shall continue to apply.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the Platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
